history review
The history of carpetbaggers and scalawags. Carpetbaggers got there name because of the cloth bag that they carried there belongings in. They were northerners who were going south. The scalawags were the southerners. The name meant worthless live stock. They were also the people to support the federal reconstruction plan and cooperated with the blacks. Both of these groups of people were similar because they supported the reconstruction.
